Three of eleven inscriptions with the sequence L M, or else L IIII and L IIII M, attested on the pillars of the aqueduct of Los Bañales. Some of these, erased by the water flow, were inscribed during the construction of the aqueduct or at the original quarry site. The nature of these inscriptions is object of debate, but they could be the abbreviations for Legio IV Macedonica, the unit probably responsible for the construction of the aqueduct in between the years 9 and 3 BC.
