Statue of St. Mary next to the parish church of St. Catherine in Immendorf. The saint is depicted with the baby Jesus on her lap and the infant John the Baptist. The monument, probably donated by the then ruler Johann Ernst von Hatzenberg, dates back to the 1st half of the 18th century.
The image of “Our Lady of the Snows”, refers to the “snow miracle” on the morning of August 5, 358. According to tradition, the Mother of God appeared to the Roman patrician John and his wife on the night of August 5 and promised them that their wish for a son would come true if a church was built in her honor on the spot where snow lay the next morning. On the morning of August 5, there was snow on the highest elevation of the Esquiline Hill in the middle of summer.
