More model informationFound near the city of Marilia (São Paulo, Brazil), Mariliasuchus amarali is an extinct crocodiliform of the Adamantine Formation (Bauru Basin, Upper Cretaceous). It had reduced water dependence compared to modern crocodiles and was characterized by specialized teeth, suggesting complex eating habits. Several specimens were subject to master’s and doctoral thesis. The specimens were tomographed to study the morphology of the internal cranial spaces, inner ear, brain, nerves and other structures.
