Architect - Jeronimas Lastovskis, 1868 Markučiai Manor - a well-preserved wooden 19th century manor house built away from the city center. avg. architecture country villa; in 2020 the main building of the Markučiai manor entered the TOP3 of the most beautiful wooden buildings in Vilnius; Most of the 19th century remains in the building. exterior and interior of the mansion - exclusive furniture, wall coverings, lamps and stoves; Durind WWI the economy of the estate fell into decay: some summer cottages, a stable and other buildings were demolished. A lot of forest was cut down. A valuable Grigory Pushkin’s collection of hunting trophies and arms, a great deal of paintings, books, and other things were lost. Owners managed to hide and save the furniture and decorations before WWII. Thanks to the former owner Varvara Puškina, the A. Puškina Literary Museum was founded and is still operating here.
