More model informationThis model is of the PBM-5 Mariner that sank in Lake Washington on May 6, 1949. The tail section was salvaged after an unsuccesful attempt to raise the entire airframe in 1996. The tail is on display at Pima Air & Space Museum and the rest of the aircraft remains submerged at 80ft in Lake Washington near Seattle, WA.
