Matthew Fontaine Maury Monument

Unveiled in 1929, the Maury monument is located at the intersection of Monument Ave and N Belmont Ave in Richmond, Virginia. It was the last statue erected on Monument Avenue until Arthur Ashe was added in 1996. Learn more about the history of Monument Avenue here!

The Monument Avenue documentation project is a collaborative effort between the Fairfield Foundation and the Virtual Curation Laboratory at VCU. The models were generated using a Phantom 4 Pro quadcopter and Agisoft Metashape photogrammetry software.
