More model informationThe MBV-2 trains were generally deployed as ranged fire support weapons or as deterrents along key fronts. Their firepower was capable of stopping any light or medium-armoured German tanks throughout the war, making them a credible threat. Although the extensive Soviet rail network meant that they were not particularly restricted on location, the amount of armament, armour and ammunition made them extremely heavy which meant careful planning to avoid lighter routes. They could also serve in the static defence role if required.
