Another experiment at animation - which will turn into an entry for the mechanical animal challenge - inspired from a mechanical caterpillar sculpture in “Les Machines de l’Ile” in Nantes (France).

Geometry, textures and optimization were a little left behind for this model, as I spent most of my time fighting with Blender’s parenting rules and animation constraints…
