More model information#Medievalbackandforth
This is the second prop that I have created for the Medieval: Back and Forth challenge on Artstation.
This model is a medieval take on a modern fire hydrant by using the materials and technology of the time. The fire hydrant uses a large wooden barrel to store the water used for putting out the fires. The hoses used to transport the water are made from leather and are in roughly 2 m lengths due to material size constraints, this is also why there are brass connectors at the end of the 2 m sections. The bellows at the rear end of the fire hydrant are there to produce water pressure so that water can be fired from the hose effectively, however in order to create enough pressure it needs to be pumped by people.
