More model informationThis monoxile boat made from oak tree. It originates from the Tsarichany district, Dnipropetrovsk region, and was found at the bank of the Oril River. Attributed to the Medieval Age (12th—13th centuries CE). With a four meter length and a characteristic “dovbanka” design, this artifact is rare of its kind.
Artefact is stored at Dmytro Yavornitskiy Dnipro National Historical Museum.
The model was digitized in the course of the project “Preserving Ukrainian Legacy,” supported by the US Embassy in Ukraine (Kyiv) and the Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation. It is a joint ownership of Dmytro Yavornitskiy Dnipro National Historical Museum, non-profit organization “CyArk” and NGO “Scientific Research Lab “Archaic”.
