A massive layer (approx. 1.5 - 2 m thick) containing car-sized blocks of turbidites and bioherms (along with some volcanic cobbles and pebbles) with a coarse sand matrix. This megabreccia is embedded in the carbonatic turbidite sequence, near its top at this location. There are several horizons of megabreccia in different stratigraphic position within the turbidites, but this is the best exposed one. All of them have limited lateral continuity, and from a distance can be mistaken for bioherms.
