At the top of the White Mountains there is a memorial of the workers’ movement, which has traditionally been very strong in Brno. Workers met here with the participation of their leaders; the greatest manifestation was experienced by the White Mountain under the leadership of Josef Hybeš in support of the requirement for universal suffrage in June 1893. Although the police banned the event, it was unable to prevent the participation of ten thousand people. At that time, the police wounded many workers, 80 of whom were arrested.
