Meshroom test: Cupar Baptist Church front door3D Model
132 photographs were captured on 2018-10-12 with a Samsung S7. These were plugged into Meshroom version 2018.1.0. The software’s default node workflow was used, with all settings left at default. It took around 210 minutes for the fully automatic production of this textured mesh from the original photos. (Computer specs.: i5-4590, GTX 970, 32GB RAM.) The mesh was then exported to MeshLab where it was manually cleaned up (vertices selected and deleted), had Laplacian Smooth applied, and finally Simplification Quadric Edge Collapse Decimation to lower its vert/poly count. In addition the PNG textures (of which there were 3) were downscaled from 4k to 2k before the OBJ/MTL/PNGs were zipped and uploaded to Sketchfab.
Meshroom is a free and open-source photogrammetry software, see https://alicevision.github.io/ for more information/download. I first read about Meshroom on the blog of Peter Falkingham at https://peterfalkingham.com/2018/08/11/photogrammery-testing-14-alicevision-meshroom/
