More model informationThis rock was found in a park or a major city in the Netherlands. When rocks seem out of place in their envrionment, the space-minded observer might link these to a more exotic origins. However, the object misses telltale features of a meteorite. One is vary clear; the cut surface illustrates the contrast between the lighter-coloured weathered exteriour and the dark iteriour of the rock. For meteorites it is often the other way around; fusion crusts are darker than the interiour and are form a sharp transition. Weathering often creates a more gradual transition, or the weathered layer is much thicker than a fusion crust.
