Methane 2D vs 3D visualization

The geometry of methane is tetrahedral. On a flat sheet of paper we use different shapes for the bonds so that the viewer can derive the geometry of the molecule. The viewer has to imagine how this molecule looks like in 3D space using the clues given by the different ways the bonds are drawn.
