This statue dedicated to Luxembourgish writer Michel Rodange was captured via a combination of the cable-free handheld 3D scanner Artec Leo and the tripod-mounted laser scanner Artec Ray. Due to the height of the upper parts of the sculpture, the long-range scanning abilities of Artec Ray were called for, while Leo captured the lower portions of the structure in high-resolution color. As you can see in the 3D model, the scans captured every millimeter of detail across the entire monument, including the hero of Rodange’s most famous book, Renart the Fox, who forever sits atop, gazing down at the bubbling fountain below. The scanning was completed in less than two hours from start to finish. After that, the scans were processed and merged in Artec Studio software, resulting in the final model. Artec Ray: Scanning time: 3-4 scans of 10-15 min each Leo: Scanning time: 30-40 min Artec Studio processing time: 60-90 min For downloading this model, click here: https://www.artec3d.com/3d-models/michel-rodange-monument
