More model information

The forefield of Mikkaglaciären, 2 August 2018

Mikkaglaciären retreats by about 20 metres per year, exposing a large forefield as it melts. The forefield is peculiar, as it contains numerous front moraines and trim lines, suggesting multiple past advances. This could indicate a quickly responding glacier to climate change, or it could be a past surge-type behaviour, where the glacier could advance and retreat due to internal dynamics.

The model was made from 596 vertical and 65 oblique drone images, captured by a DJI Phantom 4. The texture has been enhanced using a slope map, to better see the relief.
