Military Port Hemi Gate

The area around the old Yokosuka Military Port Hemi Gate has been developed as Verney Park, Yokosuka, Japan, and the guard station still remains. There are two octagonal guard boxes on either side, with the words “Hemi Landing Site” on the left and “Military Port Hemi Gate” on the right. It is about 4 meters high with a domed roof made of copper sheets. The main body is made of reinforced concrete and the exterior walls are tiled. The construction date is estimated to be around 1929, and there are traces of the rare architecture of that time.
