Description: This is a miner helmet from the Bălan mining area (Romania), the mining activity was closed in 2006. The helmet is made up of bakelite and leather. In the front part of the helmet can be found a metal bracket, which was used to hold an electric cap lamp (which is missing). The cable connecting the lamp to the battery pack on the miner’s belt would run around the rim of the helmet and be secured by the cord holder at the back of the helmet.
