A late medieval rectangular chapel is all that now remains at Leiston’s first site (Scheduled Monument No. 21404), with remote sensing results (cropmarks, magnetometry and resistivity) indicating that the ruin lies within the outline of a much larger cruciform church and claustral complex. The chapel structure was partially demolished during WWII and a pillbox constructed into the remains.
