Al-Rubaiat cells at Hosh Eissa are among the earliest landmarks of monasticism in Egypt, where the early fathers sought solitude and communion with God since the first centuries of Christianity. Their simple design reflects the spirit of asceticism, serving as places of prayer, meditation, and work, and standing as a living witness to the depth of the monastic heritage in the Beheira region.

It is called in Greek κελί and in Coptic katageion or xia

This Monastic Cell is located in Al-Rubaiat area in El-Beheira governorate, Egypt.

This model is created from 2428 photographs (Nikon D5300) using Agisoft Metashape 2.2.1 Photographed in December 2023.
