Monestir de Santa Maria de les Avellanes3D Model
Romanesque, 12 century. The monastery is an ensemble formed by three buildings of a unique historical and architectural relevance: the mediaeval monastery, the monastic guest quarters and a religious living space, where the domestic rooms currently occupied by the congregation of the Marists can be found, although they were originally inhabited by the Augustinians. It was founded in the 12th century under the patronage of the counts of Urgell, whose remains rest in the same monastery. Authentic tombs were moved to The Cloisters Museum in New York. Today, the monastery benefits both from the natural tourism offer of adjacent areas, which brings many visitors who want to complete their itinerary contemplating the monastery, as well as the hostelry offer that has been conditioned to the monastery’s rooms, and which includes accommodation and hotel services, as well as multipurpose rooms for conventions.
