Mont Mercou, Gale crater on Mars

This is a high-resolution Digital Outcrop Model of the Mont Mercou outcrop at the boundary of Glen Torridon clay-bearing unit and the lower sulfates unit of Gale crater, Mars. Here we have reconstructed the whole area, including the main cliff, its sides and its top. This model is made using Navcam and Mastcam photos taken between sols 3047-3117 by the rover Curiosity. The texture has been computed from Mastcam color images only.

The images were preprocessed using marsimage
(https://marsimage.readthedocs.io/), a python package for processing Mars rover images hosted on the PDS. Original image data is available at https://pds-imaging.jpl.nasa.gov/volumes/msl.
