My first proper attempt at a character, as well as my first proper crack at sculpting. It’s a troll from LOTR, with some slight creative liberties taken; the trolls in the films aren’t quite so jacked. Looking to animate it as well, and add another version with armor, but that will have to wait. I have to figure out how in the world i export out the pose space deformations before i can add animations to it.
Also, props to Sketchfab’s Sub Surface Scattering addition. It makes such a huge difference for skin realism.
Sculpted in 3D-Coat, retopo in Maya, rigged & posed in Maya, textured & baked in Substance Painter.
