Morgraig Castle - Caerphilly

Morgraig Castle is located in Caerphilly, on the escarpment of Craig Llanishen, close to the border between the counties of Caerphilly and Cardiff. It was built after 1243, but before 1267.

The castle depicted here is a photoscanned model created in the mid 1980’s as a school project by Jonathan Greig, Alan Davies and Mr Alan Gill (Art Teacher). Led by their teacher, the projectincluded the creation of an accurate scale model of the castle. They also collated a comprehensive historical report of the castle, which was then and is still now in ruin, with only remnants of the original walls remaining.
