Multi-period monument consisting of a 17th-century armorial plaque of Sir John Morres, 3rd Baron of Knockagh, inserted into the inner face of the northern wall of the chancel of the medieval church ruins (TN028-025002-) of Latteragh, Co. Tipperary. Beneath the armorial plaque lies a large slab with an 18th-century inscription to the memory of John Morris & his wife Ellin Butler of Cahir, Co. Tipperary. The inscribed slab rests on a large coped memorial stone belonging to Thomas John Hamilton FitzMaurice, 5th Earl of Orkney, born 8th August 1803, died at Orkney Lodge, Glenmore, May 16th 1877 aged 74. He was the son of John FitzMaurice, Viscount Kirkwall and the Hon. Anna Maria Blaquiere. On 30th of December 1831, he succeeded his grandmother Mary FitzMaurice, 4th Countess of Orkney as Earl of Orkney. He was appointed Representative Peer [Scotland] between 1833 & 1874. At the time of his death, he lived in Orkney Lodge. His Tipperary estate was 7,877 acres in size.
