Situated on the south banks of the River Coquet southwest of Warkworth in Northumberland, this cliff also known as ‘Jack Rock’, ‘Morwick Crag’ and ‘Morwick Rock Shelter’ has numerous prehistoric carvings.
Several sections of the cliff face have different types of carved spirals, all of which are fairly rare in Britain. Most of the motifs are at a height not easily accessible. This model records Morwick 1f on the Beckensall Archive (BA), recorded as numerous ‘horned spirals’, now mostly obscured by lichen.
