Carved cedar mask with straps nailed to the back of the mask and bound together with string; painted black with red dots; green, brown and yellow painted eyes; two eye holes have been carved out below and to either side of the nose. Belonged to Gitxaała Sm’ooygit Wak’aas (Amos Collison) of the Ganhada (raven) clan.
The Mosquito Mask was repatriated from the Museum of Vancouver and will be displayed at the Museum of Northern British Columbia. When the Gitxaała Longhouse and Cultural Centre is completed in Lax Klan, the mask and all other repatriated belongings will return home.
