More model information

This mysterious openwork badge shows a crowned woman and a young man in dialogue. The woman is holding a long object that lies along the ground and may be a rope. His hands are raised and he appears to be appealing to her about something. The pair is enclosed within a gothic architectural frame with a canopy formed of a gable decorated with crockets (bud-like ornaments) and cusped openwork. The inscription on this badge reads ‘MOT : hERE’. For more ideas about what this badge signifies and the meaning of the Middle English inscription, please see the information points on the 3D scan. The style of the costume and micro-architectural ornament would suggest a mid-fourteenth century date for this badge.
