A motorcycle crankcase for Lifan 150 Cc kick starter engine, scanned in mere 15 minutes with Artec Space Spider, ultra-precision 3D scanner. The part presented a great scanning challenge due to its glimmering, reflective surface, and tricky geometry full of ribs, edges, notches, and holes. Nevertheless, all the finer details are fully present in a crispy clean scan, which resulted in this lifelike 3D model. After scanning, the only thing left to do was processing in Artec Studio, which took 20 minutes. Any remaining imperfections were smoothed out in this remarkable 3D scan data software, so go ahead and rotate the model to see all the crankcase’s body surfaces, fine lines, hard-to-reach areas and indentations, and most elaborate details in high resolution. The combo of Artec Space Spider’s 0.05 mm accuracy combined and Artec Studio’s boosted algorithms resulted in a 3D model amazingly close to the original – zoom in tight to see for yourself.
