Mount Locust Inn and Plantation3D ModelNoAI
The Mount Locust Inn and Plantation is a historic structure that has stood the test of time. It is one of the oldest buildings in Mississippi, dating back to around 1785, and is located along the Natchez Trace Parkway. The building originally served as an overnight inn along the Old Natchez Trace and later became a frontier plantation. In 1954, the National Park Service restored the historic home to its 1820 appearance. Recently, in 2023, the USF Center for Digital Heritage and Geospatial Information, in collaboration with the National Park Service, performed a 3D laser scanning and architectural documentation survey of the site. This survey has provided 3D and measured drawings from laser scanning, which will be useful in understanding the site’s current condition and managing and restoring it as needed.
