Excited to share my experience working on sustainable architecture with a focus on clay barriers! 🌱 In collaboration with the “Pompeii Sustainable Preservation Project,” I had the incredible opportunity to contribute to Martin Michette’s research at University of Oxford. We delved into the world of impermeable clay barriers, exploring their potential in conservation projects. What’s fascinating is that these barriers are not only made of entirely natural materials but also boast a reversible application method, making them ideal for preservation efforts. This year’s campaign specifically honed in on constructing a damp-proof wall, utilizing clay barriers to mitigate ground moisture intrusion into excavated masonry. Grateful for the chance to be part of such impactful work!
