Museum Study 02 – Classical Portrait Head

Photographed during a visit to Rome’s Centrale Montemartini Museum and reconstructed using an AI-assisted image-to-3D workflow.

This model forms part of a personal research project investigating how single photographs can be transformed into usable 3D assets. While the reconstruction successfully captures the overall geometry, facial features, and weathered surface detail of the original sculpture, traces of the source photograph’s lighting remain visible in the generated texture.

The result sits somewhere between photography, photogrammetry, and digital sculpture: not an archival scan, but a surprisingly effective creative asset generated from a single image.
