My Little Pony: The Movie is a 2017 animated musical fantasy film based on the animated television series My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, which was developed as part of Hasbro’s 2010 relaunch of My Little Pony. The film was directed by Jayson Thiessen from a story and screenplay written by Meghan McCarthy (both Friendship Is Magic veterans) with additional material by Joe Ballarini, Michael Vogel, and Rita Hsiao, produced by Brian Goldner, Stephen Davis, Marcia Gwendolyn Jones, and Haven Alexander, and executive produced by McCarthy, Vogel, Josh Feldman, Kristen Newlands, and Sarah Wall.
