Rock unit: Siltstone above the lower Freeport Coal of the Allegheny Group
Locality: Clinton District, Monongalia Co., WV; abandoned coal strip mine about 1.3 km south of Brown’s Chapel.

This approximately 19 cm. long milliped specimen is the holotype, the specimen which defines the species based on the original publication of the species name and description. Various plant fragments, including Lepidophylloides (leaves of Lepidodendron) and Macroneuropteris scheuchzeri leaves, are also visible on the slab.
