Narwhal Tusk Walking Stick, Trinity House3D Model
This walking stick is made from the tusk of a narwhal brought back by whalers from the Arctic in the 1800s.
A similar walking stick appears in the portrait of Peter Wood, a Leith whaler. Peter Wood and his brother owned several whaling ships, along with a blubber-smelting business at the Timber Bush, on the Leith shore.
