More model informationThe site of the Nenthorn Railway Construction Contractor’s Camp (NZAA site I43/153) was the main base camp of the Dunedin contracting firm R. Meikle and Co., who held the contract to form a section of the Otago Central Railway line from Flat Stream to Sutton during 1884 -1887. This was known as the ‘Nenthorn section’ named after the stream that flows into the Taieri River near the middle of the section. The camp is located on farmland 1.65km along the tracks east of Pukerangi station.
