Nesikep Point - Secwepemc Museum 3D Model
Nesikep Point of the Secwepemc Museum & Heritage Park
Although it may look like an arrowhead, the Nesikep Point is considered a projectile point. This projectile point is from the Middle Period in Plateau Prehistory with a date ranging from 6000-4500 BP. During this period, the Secwepemc were living a nomadic lifestyle subsisting on ungulate, fish and plant foods. Points during this time were hafted onto large shafts and used as spears.
(BP is a radio carbon date calculated counting back from 1950; for a BC date add 2000. ie Nesikep 6000-4500BP = 8000-6500 BC)
