Neuquenornis volans is a late cretaceous bird from Neuquén city, Patagonia Argentina. It come from continental deposit the Bajo de la Carpa Formation (85 my), very close to the University of Comahue, and very close to the Geology college! This place is very important to preserve because has many articulated fossils of dinosaurs (Alvarezsaurus, Velocisaurus and Patagopterix deferrarisii), cocodriles (Notosuchus, Comahuesuchus) and snakes (Dinilysia). The description in the first research classifies this bird as part of the Enantiornithes. A group of extinct bird and the most abundant and diverse group known from the Mesozoic.
