More model informationOrthostat R21 is a stone dating from the Neolithic, located within the passage grave (ME019-045----) at Newgrange, Brú na Bóinne, Co. Meath, Ireland. The stone is located on the east side of the tomb’s passage. Grooves were “pecked” into the surface of the stone using an implement possibly made of flint or quartz. The whole surface was then peck-dressed. These decorations are similar to another stone on the east side of the passage: R12. R21 also has cupmarks that have been deepened by pecking, and lozenge motifs.
