More model informationNewgrange Passage tomb is a Neolithic passage grave (ME019-045----) at Brú na Bóinne, Co. Meath, Ireland. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a megalithic funerary structure, built with a passage, central chamber (with three recesses) and covering cairn. At the winter solstice in December, the rising sun shines down the passage to illuminate the back wall of the inner chamber. Many of the stones that make up this monument are decorated with motifs which were created with stone tools made of flint or quartz.
