In the saga of the Nibelungs, written around 1200, a meeting of Kriemhild of the Burgundian kings with the Hun king Etzel in Tulln an der Donau is described. This monument was erected in 2005 to mark the occasion. The figures are by Michail Nogin, the fountain by Hans Muhr. The group on the left comprises two princes wearing trains, Margrave Rüdiger of Bechelaren and Kriemhild, those on the right King Etzel (Attila), his brother Bleda and the kings Dietrich of Bern and Gibich as well as Attila’s son. In the summer months, the water fountains form an open book.
