More model informationNishinoshima is a volcanic island located in the pacific around 900 km from the main island of Japan. The eruptive activity from November 2013 gave shape to a volcanic cone of 159 m AMSL, measured by laser-scanning in December 2018 by the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan @gsi_intl. The animation shows laser-scanned data in 12 steps. Each step has been compared to the previous one (5 m minimum distance, calculated in Cloud Compare) and colored to highlight the additional rock volume.
