These colossal statues, standing 40 feet tall, originally flanked the Northern Entrance to the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III, home of the famous Colossi of Memnon. These twin statues we’re restored and re-erected in December 2014 after breaking into hundreds of fragments following an earthquake in 1200 BC.
