The first visit to this site was on June 25, 2022 at that time we took some rough measurements as well as sonar scans, aerial images and 3D photogrammetry. In July of 2023 we returned to the site with Carrie Sowden, Director of Archaeology and Research at the National Museum of the Great Lakes. Also with Ben Ford, Professor of Anthropology, Geospatial and Earth Sciences at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Detailed mapping and measurements were taken. In May of 2026 we returned for Phase 3 that involves excavation near the dagger board. This phase of the project was headed by Sowden and Ford, only after having all proper permits authorizing us to begin the work, the project was set in motion. The excavated area was for documentation purposes only to record historical archaeological data of the dagger board. After the collection of data, the same soil was returned allowing the site to be protected. A dewatering bag was used in this process to filters and traps sediment to keep the water column clean.
