Nossa Senhora da Rocha Beach (sometimes called Praia da Senhora da Rocha) is located in Alporchinhos, in the Porches parish of Lagoa municipality, Algarve, Portugal. It is near a small fishing community named after the Virgin Mary, in tribute to an old chapel perched on the top of a cliff where remnants of the Fort of Nossa Senhora da Rocha can also be found. This promontory and the beach serve as a refuge for fishing boats.
The beach is surrounded by cliffs, notably the one to the west, where the Fort and Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Rocha stand. A tunnel carved into the rock connects this beach to Praia Nova.
The beach’s shelter from high cliffs benefits both fishermen and tourists, especially during windy days. Every first Sunday of August, the local fishing community celebrates an important religious festival with a procession from the cliff to the beach sand.
