More model informationEmergency money worth 10 Heller from the municipality of Eggenburg. The ruins of Eggenburg castle are depicted on the front. 8,2 x 6,2; 1920.
Emergency money was frequently issued in Austria and Germany after the First World War (1914-1918) due to the lack of official currency. The municipalities printed such substitute banknotes, which were often valid for a limited period of time. Such emergency money bills were not only used as a means of payment, but were often also artistically designed.
