More model informationEmergency money bill worth 20 Heller from the municipality of Enzesfeld. The church of the municipality is depicted on the front. 11 x 6,4 cm; 1920.
Emergency money was often issued in Austria and Germany after the First World War (1914-1918) due to the lack of official currency. The municipalities printed such substitute banknotes, which were often valid for a limited period of time. Such emergency banknotes were not only used as a means of payment, but were often also artistically designed.
