More model information‘Nundorite’ is an unusual rock that originates from Nundora Station, north of Broken Hill in New south Wales Australia. There are various incorrect descriptions of nundorite on the web, with some claiming it is an andalusite bearing metamorphic rock. In reality, it is a deformed and metamorphosed silica undersaturated peralkaline syenite. The dominant mineralogy is aegirine (the green crystals) set in a groundmass of orthoclase, leucite and nepeheline. There is also quite a prominent tectonic foliation present.
