Nyarlathotep_Original_Concept

The subject is an original concept of Nyarlathotep, an Outer God created by Lovecraft. He is known as the “faceless God” and has thousand of different forms so I just wanted to pay my little tribute by creating my own version of him. I used the most known form, the three-legged one with a big faceless tentacle as head, and added some details of my own interpretation of his character. He is an Outer God devoted to Azathoth but at the same time he is really curious about the human race, so much that sometimes he just shapes himself as one of them. That’s why I decided to give him a human heart bursting out from his mouth and covering all of his chest. He is also a trickster, one that love deceiving and manipulating the lowly creatures of the universe, and that’s why I sculpted some fingers shaped teeth around his mouth. And finally I gave him seven whale’s vertebrae, cause whales are associated with an higher knowledge about life and death and also an unbridled creativity, just like Nyarlathotep.
